January 2012 MMA Babe of the Month – Justine Davis

Our January 2012 MMA babe of the month is ring girl and MMA model Justine Davis. This breathtaking Sicilian and American Indian babe is 5’7”, 120 lbs, measures 34C-24-36 and calls Chicago, IL home. Justine has worked with numerous MMA companies around the Midwest since 2009 and know we will only see more of her as time goes by. Taking the modeling world by storm Justine has appeared throughout multiple magazines, covers, calendars, posters, charity events, fashion shows, various news articles and website features. Some of her recent modeling accomplishments include third runner up in the Swimsuit USA International Competition, first in the Surreal Hot 100 Chicago contest and second at Tropic Beauty. Coming up Justine has a spot in the finals for Paradise Bash Party Cruz Swimsuit Contest and was recently chosen to appear at the 2012 NFL Super Bowl for Maxim. Justine was a professional cheerleader and dancer for both Chicago and Milwaukee professional indoor arena football teams. Along with sports she has been a competitive figure skater, gymnast and dancer for 16 years. Add in adrenaline junkie and think we understand why it was only a matter of time that MMA soon became a perfect match for Justine. Although we connected with Justine awhile back we guarantee the wait for this feature was well worth it.

How did you get into the world of MMA?

-One of my good friends is a MMA fighter and he asked if I was interested in being a ring girl for one of the events he was fighting at. Of course I said yes because that's definitely something I’ve always been interested in. Nothing is better than having the best seats in the house!

What were you doing before you became an MMA ring girl and model?

-Before I was a MMA ring girl and model I was working as a vet assistant and receptionist. I am a HUGE animal lover.

Who are your favorite MMA fighters?

-My favorite fighter would be Matt Hughes. His strength, aggression and takedowns were insane. He will always be a legend.

What are the strangest and sweetest comments MMA fans have said to you?

-Just when you think you've heard it all you haven't, lol that’s all I will say. As far as sweetest comments goes, a lot of fans say they love me for who I am and how I don't try to be someone else. I’m a real down to earth girl and appreciate everyone who is supportive of what I do.

What is something most people don't know about you?

-Haha. Most people don't know that I'm a HUGE tomboy and I took two years of auto mechanics to work on cars. I LOVE modifying my GTO and racing it. Nothing like the love of an adrenaline rush!

What are your hobbies and how do you spend your free time?

-My hobbies include dirt biking, snowboarding, jet skiing, wake boarding, racing my GTO and playing my guitar. I love being active.

Are you single?

-I am actually taken.

What do you look for in a guy?

-I look for someone who is wholesome, charismatic and funny. Someone that’s down to earth who doesn't let others influence them.

What are your turn-on’s?

-Smile and confidence.

What are your turnoffs?

-Bad hygiene and cockiness.

What would you say is your best feature?

-My smile.

What are your future plans or dreams in life?

-It’s hard to say because I'm the type of person who strives on always doing better and succeeding at everything I do. I love trying everything at least once. But as of right now my goals in life are to be on the cover of Maxim & Sports Illustrated, work with Victoria’s Secret and be all over Fitness magazines. I love acting and wouldn't mind tying out for a few movies. I have always wanted to be a veterinarian so that would definitely play into consideration for one of my settling down jobs. But you never know about life for it is a mystery and things change unexpectedly. : )

Any special shout outs or thank you's?

-I most definitely want to thank all of my friends, family and fans who have continued to follow and support my career. It definitely wouldn't be the same without you. Thank you guys! And thank you BabesofMMA for doing this feature on me.

Thank you too for your time Justine and hope we see you at an event real soon. We guarantee that everyone will see more of this stunner as she continues to heat up the MMA and modeling worlds. Be sure to say hello and follow Justine on Facebook and Twitter.

Meet MMA Stunner Pamela Jean Noble

We recently had the pleasure of interviewing MMA stunner Pamela Jean Noble. This sexy California girl is 23 years old, 5'7", 120 lbs and measures 32-26-33. Self described as, "a tomboy, a black belt, a fighter, a BMX learning, goofy and anything but your ordinary girl. If you have a specific question, ask."

Pamela has a great background in the MMA world. Don't get on her bad side though because she is a Tae Kwon Do black belt and now studying kickboxing. Pamela has also been on the other side of the cage as a ring card girl for several local fights in California and Las Vegas. In addition to that she has modeled for TapouT and Jaco, been a centerfold in Fighters Only Magazine and TapouT Magazine and done interviews on the red carpet at the MMA awards. When we asked who her favorite fighters are we received a great reply, "ahh there's too many to name! Bottom line the men who train for this amazing sport all deserve recognition because the dedication and commitment they put into it deserves more respect than can be payed."

Outside the MMA world Pamela has also modeled for the likes of Skin Industries, Fresh Peaches Swimwear and an extensive list of magazines. She is also an actress and singer. Some might recognize Pamela from Fuel TV's The Daily Habit Show.

I am sure we will see much more of Pamela in the near future but to keep up on all the latest news be sure to check out her website, on Facebook and on Twitter.

Fighter Babe Rachael Cummins Back in Action Friday

We recently had the pleasure of connecting with up and coming fighter babe Rachael Cummins as she prepares to return to the cage this Friday. Rachael has been a part of the sports world most of her life but basketball and volleyball made her the athlete she is today. Playing basketball since she was eight through her high school years and club volleyball from eleven through college really fueled her competitive nature which brings us to her newest career as a fighter, ring girl and model in MMA.

How did you get involved in MMA and how long have you been training?

-I walked into Reign Training Center for Jiu Jitsu on a Tuesday class, I was the only girl and I looked at my coach that I had just met at the time and told him “teach me the basics I want do a tournament this weekend” he thought I was nuts and didn’t believe me! I starting training Jiu Jitsu for two days and put myself into a tournament that same weekend. I got second place. So then two weeks later I put myself in the Best of the West tournament and got first place in gi and third place in no-gi against blue belts. I fell in love with grappling and realized that I was actually good at it. Never thinking I would ever do MMA. About 6 months later one of my coaches Luke Adams made me start hitting pads and told me to do MMA class just for fun. I was actually beating up a few boys which was so much fun! So from then on I started sparring and decided to do my first MMA Fight August 20th of 2011 almost a year after starting Jiu Jitsu and only a small amount of time Kickboxing.

Where are you currently training, and what's a typical training week like for you?

-I train at Reign Training Center in Lake Forest, CA, Mark Munoz’s gym. I train Jiu Jitsu 4-5 days a week, Muay Thai 2-3 times a week and lift weights 3 times a week. Unless I am getting ready for a fight then I train double days, morning and night which takes a lot of dedication and hard work!

Tell us about your upcoming fight, who your fighting and where?

-My next fight was scheduled to be at the Commerce Casino for BAMMA USA against Kristi Lopez who dropped last minute. In a turn of events, Kristi’s next opponent fell through with an injury and I stepped up to get my shot at her at Tuff-N-Uff Beauties & Beasts this Friday at South Point Arena in Las Vegas.

What is your best experience as a fighter? What is your worst?

-My best experience was getting into that cage in the first place which takes a lot of mental stability to have the guts to walk in there in front of a huge crowd. The worst experience was preparing for my first fight, dieting for my first time in my life and worrying every night before I went to bed. This is a MENTAL GAME first!

What advice would you give to other women who are reading this interview and want to get started in MMA?

-The best Advice I would give women that would want to start MMA is train EVERYTHING but focus most on your ground! Because if you’re a great striker and your ground game is horrible then you’re in a lot of trouble! Even though you have everyone’s sweat on you being a grappler you become very strong. Also train everyday and don’t act like a girl! Go in there and smash the boys! That’s the best feeling is making a guy way bigger then you TAP OUT!!!!

What are some of the hurdles that you think Women in MMA need to overcome before Women's MMA will be considered a top level sport like Men's MMA is today?

-Women need to work just as hard as the men do! Like I said don’t act like a girl in the gym. You’re one of the guys there :) you can be a girl outside the gym. Be tougher than most of the guys and never give up!

When do you think we will see a women’s division in the UFC?

-It might take awhile, I think we need more athletic girls to start training. We can do it, some say I know we can! We just need to keep working hard every day!

Who are your favorite MMA fighters?

-Mark Munoz, Jon “Bones” Jones, Nick Diaz, Nate Diaz and Megumi Fujii

How do you enjoy your free time when not training or fighting? Any hobbies?

-I play volleyball and coach the high school boy’s team.

We do have a few questions for the male readership as well.

What do you look for in a guy?

-I like a guy that looks tough and mean on the outside, but is sweet and romantic, does sweet things for me and has a sensitive side with a great heart. Love don’t cost a thing, it’s the little things that count.

What are your turn-ons?

-Athletic, nice abs, nice booty, strong, romantic, affectionate and Go Getters!

What are your turnoffs?

-I hate guys that talk about themselves and brag. I don’t care if you have a Bentley or Ferrari, I prefer you not to! Lol, or Dreamers…..DO IT! If u want something in life do it! Don’t drag it along.

What would you say is your best feature?

-My best feature is for sure my personality! ;)

Any future plans or dreams?

-I would love to be ready for my pro debut by next summer. I would also love to be in Strikeforce someday.

Any shout outs you would like to make?

-Thank you Reign Training Center and Clinch Gear for all my cool gear!

Thank you very much for your time Rachael! We look forward to your fight on Friday and a successful career ahead of you in MMA. Say hello or wish Rachael good luck on Facebook and on Twitter @RachaelCummins.

Prior to her journey into the MMA world, Joanne was studying Psychology at the University of Central Florida and also involved in some acting. Michelle “The Karate Hottie” Waterson Returns to the Cage on Saturday

We recently caught up with Michelle “The Karate Hottie” Waterson as she prepares to return to the cage this Saturday. Michelle was born in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Her parents met in Germany when her father was in the Army. She has an older brother and a younger sister. Michelle got into the Martial Arts because her older brother did it and she wanted to be just like him. She fell in love with it, and knew that she wanted Martial Arts to be a part of her life. Michelle first earned her black belt in American Free style Karate, and then she studied Kenpo for a little bit and then WuShu. She was always real good at the artistic aspect of martial arts but wanted to test her limits in the combative aspect. When Michelle and her mother went to Thailand she decided to study Muay Thai next. She loved the challenge so much that when she came back to the states she started fighting MMA. Michelle was then featured on the reality show, "Fight Girls" which aired on the oxygen channel. Before she got pregnant she had the privilege of doing "Bully Beat down" on MTV! Her daughter was born on March 18th, and since then has been preparing for her return to the cage on January 21st in Albuquerque New Mexico, where she currently lives and trains! Michelle brings an 8-3 MMA record to her long anticipated return to the cage this Saturday. Check out the rest of our interview with Michelle below.

How did you get involved in martial arts, the sport of mixed martial arts and how long have you been training?

-I've been doing martial arts since I was 10. I got involved in MMA when I started training with Donald Cerrone in Colorado. More background above.

Where are you currently training, and what's a typical training week like for you?

-I currently train at Jackson's/Winkeljohn's MMA. I go swimming three times a week, strength and conditioning twice a week, and MMA five times a week!

Tell us about your upcoming fight, who you’re fighting and where?

-I am fighting in Albuquerque, NM at the Hard Rock hotel and casino on the Jackson's series 7 card on January 21st. It will be the first time I headline a show. I will be fighting Diana Rael.

What has been your best experience as a fighter and what has been your worst?

-My best experience was when I fought Thricia Poovey. I took the fight with two week’s notice but was training pretty hard. We were going at it back and forth. I remember her bombing on me and I knew I was losing the fight. But there was a little voice inside of me telling me that I wasn't going out like that. I turned the fight around and ended up finishing her with a tko in the second round. It was a real test of heart for me and a big step in my fighting career.

-My worst experience would be when I fought Elena Reid; my head wasn't on right for that fight. I really, really wanted to win but I just couldn't stay focused and it showed in the fight. I was doing well in the first, but then the second came around and I lost control of myself. I gave up on myself. It was one of the worst feelings a fighter can have.

What advice would you give to other women who are reading this interview and want to get started in MMA?

-Work hard and do it because you love it. It's a tough road but well worth the reward.

When do you think we will see a women’s division in the UFC?

-Hopefully within these next couple of years!!!!

What or who are your inspirations in MMA and life?

-My family! My fiancé Josh, my coaches Greg Jackson and Mike Winkeljohn and all my teammates. I know that is a lot but they all inspire me in their own ways.

How do you enjoy your free time when not training or fighting?

-I love spending time with my baby Araya. I love doing adventurous things. I also like arts and crafts! Oh yeah, and dancing.

Any future plans or dreams?

-I want to eventually have a school of my own and teach others what I have learned. I would also like to fight for the UFC one day. I want a big family, and I want to just enjoy life!

We do have a few questions for the male readership as well but sorry fellas Michelle is engaged and a proud mother.

What do you look for in a guy?

-Strong physically and mentally, honest, loving, funny and loyal. Someone who appreciates the little things, someone who is motivated and positive.

What are your turn-ons?

-Confidence, dimples and back muscles.

What are your turnoffs?

-Jerks.

Any shout outs you would like to make?

-Team Jackson's, my manager Jahani Curl, Rich Montoya, the Turning point gym and all my friends and family! Also want to thank all the fans who support my career! Without them it would be a lot harder to find fights.

The Karate Hottie is back and you don’t want to miss it! If you can’t make it in person check out the fights online. Say hello to Michelle on Twitter @karatehottiemma. Thanks for your time Michelle and good luck on Saturday!
